Meet The TSW Committee

Chair

Badger and I found TREC in 2021 after he stopped jumping due to injury. After months of box rest we started doing TREC style obstacles to help with rehab and Badger seemed to love it, so we entered a couple of winter competitions in 2022 and we were hooked!

We did our first full summer season in 2023. There’s something special about camping with your horse (and fellow TREC competitors!) and having the opportunity to ride some beautiful routes. It’s rapidly become my favourite way to spend the summer weekends

Me and my lovely mare PollyAnna have been trecing for 3 years, mainly at Level 1 pairs. We're slowly getting better - she's quite a spooky one so some of the PTV can be quite entertaining!
We also compete at dressage, working hunter and hunter trials and love boxing up and exploring our beautiful countryside

Ruby (my fabulous horse) and I started doing Trec a couple of years ago having had some friends rave about it. I was very concerned at first that I wouldn’t enjoy it and that we would be rubbish!! Well safe to say I love Summer Trec, I am not so enamoured with Winter but it is good practice but the best thing is all the smashing other Treccies who were so welcoming and friendly. We did our first full season last year (2025) and loved it all and consequently I am now on the committee to try to help others enjoy the experiences that it gives.
I love going away with Ruby – we did a 3 day trip in Wales last year and did one on Exmoor the year before with some wonderful horsey friends ….. my motto is work hard and play harder so with riding and skiing and spending funtimes with my family that is my life.

Membership Secretary
Anna Ames
Hello All, I am Anna Ames your TREC SW membership secretary.
I have been around horses for most of my life, as brought up next to a yard which started young horses, trained Point to Pointers and had 2 TB stallions.
I worked at the University of Exeter in Biosciences as a technician for 37 years before taking severance, so more time for family and hobbies.
I have enjoyed all Riding club activities, did some showing, hunting and now fun rides, TREC and dressage. Taken part in RC Horse trials going to the Nationals and placed and now been to several TREC National Champs.
Until a few years ago I looked after my horse on a private yard (Tally is my 6th) but now at Newhall livery and am enjoying the support and the facilities, so wish I had had them when younger and fitter. But being retired means I have more time to enjoy my passion, horses!
So seen all aspects of the horse world over the years.
Always so much to learn with horses, so we never stop developing our knowledge.

I got into Trec around 2017 and think it is an amazing sport which looks easy, but makes you use your brain!
I love the focus on schooling that the Winter Series gives you and your horse. Dressage is something I have done a lot of and to have a balanced horse who is soft and listening will always help with the PTV.
Summer Trecs are great fun and my horses love going to these, it must be a lovely experience for them to be in such a big "gang" when we are all camping! And for the humans too!
